'Happy Days' was originally created by Garry Marshall. The idea was thought of by Michael Eisner in 1970, and presented to Garry the same year. Garry agreed, and a pilot, titled "The New Family In Town" was shot in February of the following year, and picthed to ABC under the title, "Cool". ABC regected it, and instead aired it as a segment of "Love, American Style" in 1972 under the name, "Love, and the Television Set". By mid 1973, ABC showed intrest in the project again, and Garry filmed another short film titled "The Happy Days" in late 1973, and ABC liked it.

The show stared Ron Howard, Anson Williams, Donny Most, Erin Moran, and Henry Winkler.
